Lu Callstrom, featured artist

Art on Broadway at the Albert Lea Art Center is pleased to present Lu Callstrom as the featured artist for the month of March. Callstrom is well known in the area for her watercolors and especially for her creation of the 2008 Albert Lea City flower painting, “Geranium,” which was also used for wine labels on a specialty wine for Hy-Vee Liquor. Additionally, Callstrom has had her paintings featured in other galleries, including the MacNider Museum in Mason City where her painting, “Hydrangeas,” was exhibited in 2007.

“My goal is to try and capture the essence of my subjects,” remarked Callstrom. “I see my watercolor as a gift and an opportunity to discover and explore the potential within myself; to come to appreciate the beauty of life, and share it with others.”
